MEET Chantelle Korver
Chantelle has had a lifelong passion for helping people. She is a bilingual Spanish speaker, with a Doctorate of Acupuncture and East Asian Medicine, a Master of Chinese Herbal Medicine, and a minor in Human Health Sciences.
She remembers traveling as a young child and developing a respiratory illness. Her great aunt took her for a walk to pick flowers and made tea from them. 6-year-old Chantelle wondered if her aunt was a little crazy, for making her drink plants, but by the next day, the illness was completely gone. This sparked Chantelle's interest in natural healing, and became a field she has continued to grow in, since.
She graduated from the top-rated acupuncture school in North America, Bastyr University, where she quickly fell in love with the medicine.
In addition to the required curriculum for graduation, Chantelle completed every elective that the acupuncture program offered, as well as many courses from other Bastyr programs. These courses covered topics such as mental health, pain management, fertility, sleep, oncology, traumatology, craniosacral therapy, Ayurveda, exercise science, massage, and more. She also took as many extra acupuncture and Chinese herbal shifts as she could, wanting to learn from as many different supervisors as possible, in as many different settings as possible.
She completed rotations in a variety of hospital and clinical settings, including refugee clinics, and the Harborview trauma center. After graduation, she did training for facial and cosmetic acupuncture, and did a two-year apprenticeship with a Master Tung Acupuncture specialist (a system of acupuncture which dates back to ~350 BCE).
She loves that this medicine treats the whole person and recognizes that the body and mind are interconnected. He extensive training allows her to tailor unique treatments for each individual, while treating the whole person, and improve overall well-being.
